What We Look for in a Host Location.

A strong host site provides a professional learning environment and helps the event operate smoothly. Final requirements may vary by program.

Classroom and Facility

Minimum 40 Person Capacity Classroom should comfortably accommodate at least 40 participants.
Classroom Style Setup Tables and chairs configured for professional classroom instruction.
Air Conditioning Reliable climate control throughout the training space.
Accessible Facility Appropriate participant access, restrooms, and reasonable accessibility.
Registration Area Space near the classroom for participant check in and course materials.

Technology and Logistics

Reliable High Speed WiFi Stable internet access for instructors and participants as applicable.
Presentation Display Projector or large display with HDMI or similar connectivity.
Audio Support Microphone or amplified audio when appropriate for room size.
Power Access Adequate electrical access for laptops and training equipment.
Parking Adequate onsite or nearby parking for the anticipated audience.

Refreshments and Local Vendors

Coffee and Refreshments Help identify local vendors for coffee, water, and light refreshments.
Food Vendors Local options for meals, snacks, or participant food service.
Potential Sponsors Help identify appropriate businesses, associations, or community partners interested in supporting meals, snacks, or nonalcoholic drinks.
Agency Policy Review Advise GovSource of any procurement, ethics, vendor, sponsorship, or donation restrictions.

Local Point of Contact One primary host representative available before and during the program.

Common Questions About Hosting GovSource Training.

Is every hosted workshop free?

No. Qualifying organizations may be considered for select no cost workshop opportunities. Availability depends on the program, location, regional demand, facility, scheduling, and final hosting terms.

How many people must our classroom hold?

GovSource generally looks for facilities capable of comfortably accommodating at least 40 participants in a classroom style setup.

Can our personnel attend a hosted workshop?

Approved host personnel may be able to attend qualifying hosted workshops at no cost, subject to program capacity and final hosting terms.

What do certification course hosts receive?

Approved hosts of select certification courses may receive up to four complimentary seats in consideration for providing the agreed facility, technology, local coordination, and other hosting requirements.

Do we need food and beverage vendors?

Hosts should be able to help identify appropriate local options for coffee, refreshments, meals, snacks, or nonalcoholic beverages when needed.

Can sponsors support the event?

Potential sponsorship support may be considered where appropriate. Host organizations should identify any agency policies, procurement requirements, ethics restrictions, or limitations involving outside vendors or sponsors.

Can neighboring agencies attend?

Depending on the program and final hosting arrangement, GovSource may open training to personnel from multiple public safety organizations.

Does submitting this form guarantee a course?

No. GovSource evaluates the facility, location, program request, demand, scheduling, and available instructors before determining whether to proceed.
