1

Scope of this statement

This Accessibility Statement applies to GovSource controlled websites, pages, forms, portals, documents, media, training materials, and other digital content that display or link to this statement. It primarily addresses content and services available through govsource.com.

Some GovSource services connect to independently operated agency websites, learning systems, payment processors, scheduling tools, video platforms, social networks, and other third party services. Those providers control their own platforms and accessibility practices. Our approach to those services is described below.

2

Our commitment to accessible service

GovSource is committed to improving access for people with disabilities, including people who experience blindness or low vision, deafness or hearing loss, limited mobility or dexterity, speech disabilities, cognitive or learning disabilities, neurological disabilities, and temporary or situational limitations.

Our goal is to provide equal and meaningful access to information and services. When a digital barrier cannot be corrected immediately, we will consider a reasonable alternative that provides access to the same information or service when feasible.

3

Accessibility standard and approach

GovSource uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2, Level AA, as its working technical benchmark. WCAG organizes accessibility around four principles: content should be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.

We aim to apply this benchmark to new and updated GovSource controlled digital content. Accessibility also depends on the content being used, the browser or device, assistive technology, and third party components. No technical standard can address every individual need.

Conformance status

This statement describes GovSource’s accessibility goal and improvement process. It is not a certification that every page, document, form, video, or third party component has completed a formal WCAG conformance audit.

4

Measures we take

GovSource accessibility practices may include:

Accessible design and content

Using readable layouts, semantic structure, sufficient contrast, descriptive links, and clear language.

Keyboard and focus support

Designing interactive content to work without a mouse and providing a visible keyboard focus indicator.

Media and document review

Adding useful text alternatives, captions, transcripts, headings, and accessible document structure when practical.

Testing and feedback

Combining automated checks, manual review, and user feedback as content and technology change.

Vendor consideration

Considering accessibility when selecting or configuring forms, payment tools, portals, and other vendors.

Issue correction

Prioritizing reported barriers based on impact, urgency, available alternatives, and the work needed to correct them.

5

Accessible website features

GovSource design and content practices are intended to support:

  • Logical heading structure and meaningful page organization.
  • Keyboard access to links, controls, menus, forms, and other interactive elements.
  • Visible focus indicators for people navigating without a mouse.
  • Text resizing, browser zoom, and responsive reflow on mobile devices.
  • Color contrast and cues that do not rely on color alone.
  • Descriptive page titles, link text, labels, instructions, and error messages.
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images and identification of decorative images when practical.
  • Reduced motion preferences where animation or transitions are used.

Accessibility may vary across older content and third party components. If a feature does not work with your access method, please report it so we can investigate.

6

Assistive technology and compatibility

GovSource controlled pages are intended to work with current versions of commonly used browsers, operating systems, mobile devices, screen readers, screen magnification tools, speech recognition software, and keyboard navigation. Results may vary based on the combination of technology used.

Older browsers, unsupported operating systems, custom browser extensions, or disabled browser features may not display or operate all content as intended. For the best experience, keep your browser and assistive technology updated and enable the features needed for the service you are using.

Helpful detail when reporting a problem: Tell us your browser, device, operating system, and assistive technology, if any. This information helps us reproduce and correct the issue.

7

Forms, accounts, and transactions

GovSource uses online forms for contact requests, candidate services, registrations, payments, subscriptions, support, training, and other business processes. We aim to provide labels, instructions, keyboard access, understandable validation, and clear error information for GovSource controlled forms.

If a form, account, checkout, or transaction process creates an accessibility barrier, contact us before any stated deadline when possible. We can help identify an available alternative method or provide reasonable assistance with the process. Assistance does not waive payment, identity verification, eligibility, document, security, testing, certification, or legal requirements that apply to the service.

Protect sensitive information: Do not email passwords, full payment card or bank account numbers, Social Security numbers, criminal justice information, protected health information, or other restricted records. GovSource will provide a more appropriate process when sensitive information is necessary.

8

Documents, media, and training content

GovSource content may include PDF documents, word processing files, spreadsheets, presentations, images, audio, video, webinars, tests, course materials, and downloadable resources. New or updated materials are reviewed for accessibility as practical, but some legacy or specialized content may require additional remediation or an alternative format.

We work to provide meaningful image descriptions, readable document structure, captions, transcripts, and accessible presentation materials where appropriate. Automatically generated captions or transcripts may contain errors and should not be treated as an exact record without review.

If you need a document, video, or training resource in another format, identify the item and the format or access method that would be most useful. Some requests may require time to prepare, particularly for complex, secure, copyrighted, or third party materials.

9

Third party services and links

GovSource may link to or integrate with third party forms, payment processors, scheduling systems, learning platforms, video services, maps, social networks, agency websites, and other tools. GovSource does not control the code, policies, updates, or accessibility of an independently operated service.

We consider accessibility when selecting and configuring vendors and communicate reported barriers when appropriate. If a third party feature prevents you from accessing a GovSource service, contact us. We will review whether a reasonable alternative method is available, while respecting security, contractual, legal, and operational requirements.

A link to another website does not mean GovSource controls or certifies that website’s accessibility. The third party’s own accessibility statement and support process may also apply.

10

Known limitations and ongoing improvement

Despite our efforts, accessibility limitations may occur in areas such as:

  • Older documents, archived materials, or content created before current accessibility practices were adopted.
  • Embedded forms, videos, maps, payment tools, scheduling tools, and other third party components.
  • Automatically generated captions, transcripts, descriptions, or translated content.
  • Complex tables, presentations, testing content, and documents received from agencies, partners, instructors, or users.
  • Newly published or rapidly changing content that has not yet completed a full accessibility review.

GovSource reviews reported barriers and improvement opportunities based on user impact, urgency, service deadlines, technical feasibility, available alternatives, and the resources required. We may correct the original content, replace it, provide an accessible version, or offer another reasonable method of access.

11

Requesting assistance or an accommodation

You may request accessibility assistance or an alternative format for GovSource controlled information or services. You may also contact us about an accommodation related to a GovSource course, event, appointment, assessment, or service. Submit requests as early as possible so there is time to understand the need and coordinate an appropriate response.

When contacting GovSource, include:

  • Your name and preferred method of contact.
  • The page, document, course, event, form, feature, or service involved.
  • The barrier you encountered or the task you need to complete.
  • The accommodation, format, or access method that would be useful, if known.
  • Any relevant deadline or scheduled date.

Requests are considered individually. An accommodation does not change an essential eligibility, licensing, certification, testing security, identification, conduct, or public safety requirement. When GovSource does not control the underlying requirement, we may need to coordinate with an agency, school, regulator, vendor, or other authorized organization.

12

Report an accessibility issue

If you experience difficulty using GovSource digital content, please report the issue. Specific details help us reproduce the problem and direct it to the right person or provider.

Please include, when available:

  • The complete web address or name of the affected page, form, document, or feature.
  • A brief description of what you were trying to do and what happened.
  • The browser, device, and operating system you used.
  • The assistive technology or access method you used, if you are comfortable sharing it.
  • Any error message and the date and approximate time the issue occurred.
  • Your preferred way to receive the information or complete the task.

GovSource will review accessibility reports and respond as reasonably possible based on the nature and urgency of the request. Reporting a concern through this process does not limit any right available under applicable law.
